Halloween 2011

Halloween! Always a good time.

Charles was the Green Lantern this year

Jen was a cute lady bug.

I was a devil - apparently lady bugs like devils

Mindy also came over and borrowed my pirate costume.

We headed over to Tyler and Tori's house to meet the rest of the crew. 

Kelsi was a witch

I dont remember what Tyler was actually but the nose mask was crazy! 

Then we got our drink on and played some kings cup. Jen was on water and Charles had on Craig's batman mask/cap and was trying to be creepy. Success.

Dad's Treasures

My dad was really into medal detecting as you all know for a while. Then he found Golf. In order to pay for his new hobbie, he decided to sell some of his findings to fund his new hobby. So I told him that I had to take pictures of what he had found so we didnt forget. So thats exactly what I did :)

Changes

A lot of changes have been happening this past month.

• Deana (That's me) moved into her very own apartment! Just me and Lucky!
• Charles took over my old room which is a ton bigger! He loves the closet space.
• Mom had some medical issues that I will touch on later but she is on her way to recovery!
• Dad has been smoke free for over 4 months! I am so proud of him!!!!

There are of course always changes going on but these are the biggies :)

The Pond

This pond has been....to say the least...a big pain in the butt!!

We started about 4 years ago (2007)

My dad dug a hole, put in the tarp paper and filled it up. We added some rocks and this is what we ended up with.

Nothing too exciting. But we had a pond!

Well, the plain look of the pond and the placement of the rocks were too much for me. So I had to get out there and fix them.

Again....

...and again...

and then AGAIN!

I finally got it looking how I thought it should.

In the process of one of the fixes of the pond, we found a little friend. My dad almost got him with the lawn mower but we saved him

Now back to work...

And finally after 4 years and lots and lots of stress....

We have a completed pond. Even most of our fish made it through all the changes. 

This pond is not coming apart this time. We made sure of that!

Next to Normal

Kelsi and I started a new season at Pioneer Theatre! Our first play was Next to Normal. I had no idea what it was about but I have liked all of the plays so I didn't expect anything different for this one. And I was right! I LOVED it! I cried like a little baby too. It was awesome! I am looking forward to all of our plays this season! Its such a great deal and a cheap way to get out of the house for a mini girls night.

Back Yard - Deck

We have made a few changes to our back yard over the years. I must say, this is my favorite look so far!

 

Lucky's Tenth birthday!

My puppy is no longer a puppy. He is officially TEN years old! Its insane how fast the time has flown since I begged my parents to let me bring home this puppy that looked just like our old dog Jack.

I brought him home over a weekend for a little test run. And of course, everyone fell in love with him! How could you not. He is perfect!

I had the hardest time picking his name. I wanted something unique. I was thinking Sabation for a while but thats quite a long name for a dog. I tried a few others and finally, I picked the most common name!

Lucky!

And let me tell you, it fits him perfectly!

To celebrate his birthday, I invited over a couple friends and their pup's. I even made them all a dog friendly cake. It has carrots for the topping.

All of the dogs were more than willing to give my little experiment cake a taste.

Teeko pretty much swallowed it whole! Thats not surprising.

Then with another piece, his mom, Jen, decided to smash it all over his face. I am not sure he was impressed.

Kipsi was taking her time like a true lady

Jemma was not a fan of the plate. Apparently she enjoys her food on the ground.

Then the dogs got to play around for a while.

Lucky mostly stood by us at the table and begged for anything anyone would give him.

Jemma was a huge fan of Teeko. She followed him all over the yard begging him to play.

All in all, I think Lucky's birthday turned out wonderful!
