Christmas 2012

Since we have dogs and no human kids, most of our christmas pictures are focused on the dogs. Here are a few pictures of Dexters first christmas. He LOVED the snow after he realized it wasn't scary.

Lucky and Dexter opened their own presents. Lucky is a pro so he helped to teach Dexter this valuable skill.

He looks very proud of himself

Here are 2 of the very few pictures of actual humans :)

Someday we might take pictures of actual babies. I know our mom is ready to be a grandma but she still has some waiting to do considering Charles and I still aren't even close to getting married!

Merry Christmas (very late)

More of Dexter

I just wanted to throw in some pictures of Dexter when he was young. He was so stinkin cute and I just found these pictures so here you go.

We are BACK!

It has been WAAAAAAY too long since our last post. Unacceptable! First of all, i will update you with some pictures of the puppy you last saw...Dexter. he is no longer the sweet adorable little nugget...He is this....
Very adorable and boy does he have a personality! I love this little butt!

We have another new pup in our lives. I (Deana) was volunteering with Utah Animal Advocacy Foundation (UAAF) and saw this face... This sweet adorable face and i knew she had to be mine. The problem was that i was living at my parents waiting to buy a house (That story will come soon) and they specifically stated NO MORE DOGS while you live here. I agreed never knowing i would fall in love with a little diva. I adopted her... She had nowhere to live. Not the best decision on my part but i HAD TO HAVE HER! It was something i couldn't let go of. So she lived at my work (K9Lifeline) for a little while till i could convince everyone of how little trouble she would be. And i mean, look at this face!
I named her Lola and she is my little princess. I love her dang face so much its sickening! Mr Lucky is still kicking. He is basically going deaf and a little senile but is healthy other than that
He and Lola get along great. They cuddle on the same bed often. I love it :)

Dexter and Lola are BEST FRIENDS! I love to see them play together. They are a match made in heaven.

The Naming of the Puppy

Trying to pick the perfect name for your new puppy/cat/baby is always stressful. They will have this name for the rest of their lives so we wanted to be sure it was a good one. Charles wanted us to wait and see what his personality told us to name him. I wanted something awesome. He isn't my dog or anything but I wanted to have some input....Ok, a lot of input.

We went through quite a few names. We have our cat Zero so my dad thought it would be cool to name him Number 1 after Star Trek. Riker was a pretty cool name but it was hard to yell out and just didn't flow well. Oliver maybe? No... We tried tons of names and were getting frustrated that we couldn't find that one perfect name. One night, we were watching the best show ever, The Dog Whisperer, and one of the dogs Caesar was working with had the name we were looking for. It was perfect. As soon as I heard it I wondered why I hadn't thought of it sooner.

The name is..... Dexter!

The new Puppy!!!

A couple weeks ago I came home from working at Petsmart to hang out with my mom. Just another normal day.
She says to me "The neighbor has some puppies"
"Really?? Well lets go take a look" I say.

So we walk out back and ask them if we can see the puppies. We see a bundle of black and a little brown across the yard moving all slow. One of the girls picks up a black and a brown one and walks them over to us. My mom looks at each of them and decides to hold the brown one. I take the black one. She looks at his face and says "I might have to talk to my husband about this one"
In my head I say "Who are you??" Actually it must have been out loud cuz I got a giggle as a response.

My dad was down the street working so I took the liberty of running over there to tell him that "Mom" needs him. He lets out a big sigh and says "What does she need" I say, "I cant tell you". At this point I am sure he is not looking forward to finding out what this little secret is. He says he will be home in about 15 minutes. Well, thats 15 minutes too long for me but I tell him thats fine and go home.

I wait impatiently for him to come home while talking with my mom about how awesome having a dog is. As if she hasnt had one before.

He comes home and she says "Sooooo.....We looked at those puppies"
"So"
"So there is one thats really cute...."
"And"
"And I might want it"
(Sigh)

This went on for a bit with him being silent and us not knowing what the sighs and silence really meant.

The decision was ultimately made by my mom. I had nothing to do with it of course :)

"Ok, Ill take him"

I was seriously the happiest girl in the world. And it wasnt even my dog!
I ran to the neighbors and said
"We will take him!"

A little over a week later
He arrived.

Christmas Gift Exchange

Merry Christmas! Charles and I participated in a friend gift exchange. We had it at Jen's house again. Lucky was of course awesome and let me take his picture by the tree.

Teeko...Not so much. It took a lot of work to just get him to let us put the hat on. And he still looks like he is about to freak out!
Teeko decided he needed to try and fight Lucky for participating so well and making him look bad.

All of our friends arrived and the first thing Brayden did was grab a Wii remote and sneak in on our Mario game. He didn't even take off his coat! :)
We had a few snacks and then opened presents! Brayden drew names and I was first. Kelsi drew my name and my gag gift was a bag of condoms and carmel. It was awesome.
My real gift was a Glee game. How do people know I love Glee...Weird.

Next Charles got his gift from Craig. It was a PS3 game with a million Sega games! Awesome!

Then I got to give Kelsi the gift I got her. I was REALLY excited about it. She LOVES Disney and I found this awesome clock. She loved it of course!
Then Craig got his gift from Jen. An Angry Birds blanket. So awesome! Brayden named him Angry Red.

Then Charles gave Jen her gift. Its a non-spill salsa bowl. And this is PERFECT for Jen. She is always spilling salsa! Its an awesome bowl.

Ill show you how it works.
See how awesome :)

Then we let the dogs open their presents. Lucky got a cute stuffed lamb that makes a rather annoying sound (thanks Jen) and Teeko got a chew toy. They like opening them by themselves but they needed a little help.

And Brayden got to open his gifts from Jen and I as well. He didn't need any help.
Brayden got his own Angry Bird. He is named Angry Yellow. Teeko wanted him. But Brayden knew that he couldn't let him anywhere near that bird or he would kill it! Smart kid!
He kept asking if he was going to take the bird home and if it was his. We kept reassuring him that it was his and he could take it home.

Then Brayden opened my present to him. It was a Toy Story 3 book with his name in the story. It was way cute. Jen read it to him (and all of us) at the end of the night.

All in all, it was a great night!
