Boyfriend???

So Charles and I started tennis lessons yesterday! We have been playing like crazy the last week or two trying to get ready for tennis so we didn't embarrass ourselves because we took an "advanced" class. Well can I just say...We are really good compared to the other two girls in our class. Its nice to be one of the "good players"

So your probably wondering why I am talking about tennis with my brother when the title of this blog says Boyfriend??? Well here is the thing...

Charles and I are pretty close for being brother and sister. We are pretty much best friends. Well he is my best friend and ill just assume I am his as well. Anyway, since we get along so well, we do a lot of things together. We go out to eat...see movies...go to parties together....and play tennis together. And in case you haven't noticed, we don't look anything alike. So on more than one occasion I get the question

"Is he your boyfriend?"

And yes the girls in our tennis class asked. They were pretty embarrassed when I told them he was my brother. Then they were jealous and said they wished their brother would play tennis with them. I am the one usually having to explain that he is not my boyfriend, because he is off being Mr. Social Butterfly.

So you would think that we would just avoid each other so people don't assume we are together. Well that apparently doesn't matter. We go to the same dentist. I go one day and he goes a month or two after me. And you can only guess what the dentist said...

"we just saw your wife in here"

WIFE! Now I am his wife instead of his girlfriend. We were never even in the same room. People have made some hilarious assumptions. It is pretty entertaining and no matter how hard we try, we are know as a couple. Its really a game killer for Charles. But its good entertainment and I just had to share.

Oh and here is a picture of the lovely "Couple"

Tucker and Zero

The last two in the family are

Tucker and Zero

I found Tucker at Petsmart about two years ago. He was a Christmas gift for my mom. And of course Tucker took to my dad and became 'his' cat. So that's when I worked my magic again and somehow talked them into getting Zero. We got him about a year ago from a co-worker. Before her cat had kittens I told her there would be a gray one and he was going to be mine. And sure enough he was the only gray one in a litter of 4. And we took him home and let me tell you...He is trouble! I taught him some things that some of us regret. He LOVES to be outside. And when they are little its cute to watch them play with all the bugs in the grass. Well now that he is a healthy 13 pounds he is out every day, rain or shine. He climbs trees, bothers the birds and cries and cries until we let him out. What about Tucker you ask? Well before Zero came into the picture, Tucker was more than happy to live a life indoors. But once he saw how much fun Zero had outside he decided he would try it out. And now we have two cats who cry at the door. Its funny most of the time but sometimes, you have just had enough.

Here are some pictures of the crazy cats outside...

Here is Zero up the tree

And here he is again getting into more trouble with the birds. I am suprised they keep coming back for more. They must know he is pretty slow for a cat.

Tucker isn't nearly as daring. He thinks its best to cry at them from afar and hope they will just come over and ask him to eat them.

Lucky's Binky

For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of meeting Lucky, He is the best dog ever! Ya he will walk by and lick you for no apparent reason except to say hi and then continue on his way. He doesn't always listen when we are out and he is constantly begging for a little piece of whatever is on your plate. But he is really the sweetest dog and has nothing but love inside. He is also quite a baby. I don't know exactly how it started but sometime when he was a puppy he began taking any soft toy and nursing it. It is quite funny and I have never seen any other dog do it. He of course picks his favorite 'binkies' and sucks them until they are so disgusting that I have to throw them away and get him another one. Here is his current favorite. As you can see the poor lion seems pretty hammered.

Here is lucky with another favorite. Warning...Do not touch the toys when he is done. Gross!

Lucky is also VERY scared of all the thunder we have been having lately. He runs around the house searching for a safe place which happens to be under my computer desk with his head tucked between my feet. It is sad but oh so cute at the same time. I love my dog!

Dorothy's Hobby

My mom's hobby would have to include a few different things. One of the things that anyone who has had a baby should know is that she makes them a blanket. Unfortunately I do not have any pictures of them but you can bet the next time she make one i'll be snapping a few.

Another hobby that has just been for the past year or so is bird watching in our back yard. She also has a collection of wind chimes. It would not be uncommon to find her in the back yard on the swing for sometimes three hours on a nice Saturday morning.
Here are some pictures of the birds we get in our yard
And here are a couple of her wind chimes. She has many more but these are the only ones I had pictures of.

Gary's Hobby

So now we are on to Gary's hobby. He is very into medal detecting. And when I say "in to" I really mean "obsessed" He has even joined a Medal Detector Club. He has found quite a few things. Even enough to purchase an even better Medal Detector.

Here is my mom imitating the hobby...I can tell he is thinking "You'll never find anything if you hold it that way"

He also has a hat he wears when its sunny out. Along with his sunglasses and his reading glasses so he can see what current treasure he has found.
