New car! ....er... Truck!!!!

I went to buy a car on April 15th after work. Charles and I went to just "look" but of course the salesman found me a car that I loved. It was a Nissan Maxima. It was really awesome. Sunroof, auto windows, auto locks, leather seats, heated seats and steering wheel. And FAST! I have never had such a fast car. So I drove this baby around for a week until the next Friday (April 22nd) when they called me back in to "talk about the financing". Well, I have done this before and last time, they suckered me into an agreement that I didn't want. So I brought my Mom with me. They wanted her to co-sign or have me pay some money down. My mom wasn't willing to co-sign on this particular car because it had a lot of miles. So they said we should look around for something else. We arrived at the dealer at 5:30pm. At about 9 we finally decided on a vehicle. My Dad came along for the ride and eventually Charles came as well. None of us had had dinner and were starving! We finally got out of there at about 10 and went to get some Panda! Yummy :) What vehicle did I choose, you ask?

A 2004 Ford Ranger. I love it!!! First of all, its a truck. Need I say more?? I love trucks! And this is perfect! It has 4 wheel drive, a tow package, 4 doors, auto locks and windows...Its just awesome :) Its almost my dream truck (Toyota Tacoma) but I will have to wait on that one. But my Ranger will do just fine for now :)

Bring on summer so I can take it camping!!!!

I didn't take my truck home until April 26th because they were detailing it. They had all day Saturday, Monday and most of Tuesday to get it done. When did they finish?  5 minutes AFTER I came to pick it up. So it was still sopping wet inside! I had to sit on plastic or else my butt would have been soaked.

Well, the next morning, since the car was still damp inside it fogged up the windows and FROZE to the INSIDE of the windows! No good! So I had my heater blasting early this morning so I could see. Happy to say the heater works great!! :)

Happy Easter!

Easter is always better with kids. So I stole Brayden to dye some Easter Eggs! Craig and Kelsi and Jen crashed my party but I was ok with it :)

The next morning (Easter morning) Charles made breakfast for all of us. While he was cooking, Jen and I snuck outside and hid a bunch of eggs that Kelsi and Craig had prepared for Brayden.
After breakfast it was time for Brayden to go find all the eggs that Jen and I hid.

He did a great job finding all of the eggs! He also had a few toys to find and once all of the eggs were found, we played some yard games. It was a wonderful way to spend Easter!

Girls Dinner

We went to the Bayou for our Girls Dinner. I was pretty skeptical at first because when you look at the menu online the first thing on there is Alligator Cheesecake! Gross!!! Luckily there were other "Deana friendly" items on the menu.

We all got a yummy drink and delicious food! And at the end of our meal, Kelsi and I split two deep fried Twinkies. That's a heart attack waiting to happen right? It was pretty good unfortunately but luckily I don't eat deep fried Twinkies on a regular basis!

We had a great time! I cant wait until next month!

Hummingbird Nests

So last night I kicked Kelsi and Craig out of their own house so I could have a play date with Brayden. We had big plans. Go to the store for supplies, eat dinner, watch a movie, make nests, Eat candy, take a bath, play hide and seek...

So we started off at the store and he was obsessed with playing with my iPod. He kept saying "I need your iPod" and I would say, "No you don't" and he would come back with "Uh...Why not?"
It was so cute! He said "Why not?" to a lot of things. Some of them didn't even make sense but its still adorable.

So we started making our Hummingbird nests.
We took 1 cup of chocolate chips and melted it on the stove. Brayden did a great job stirring!

Then after the chocolate was melted I threw in a cup of shredded coconut and mixed it all together while Brayden poured it in. Then we rolled in into balls and pressed a hole in the middle to make it look like a nest.
Brayden doesn't like to get his hands dirty most of the time. He usually has a heart attack if he spills on himself. I was determined to get those little hands dirty and have him like it!
Success!

While our treat was in the fridge cooling off for about 40 minutes, we watched some of Tangled while eating chocolate. Braydens favorite thing. Eating candy while watching a movie.
After the nests were cool, Brayden put the eggs in. He decided which nest was whose. He left one nest empty so he could eat it right away :)

We had a great time hanging out! If I don't have any of my own kids yet, I will just keep borrowing other peoples!  Especially cute ones like Brayden :)

Sunshine!

We finally had a sunny day! We all took full advantage of it and got outside! My dad and Charles cleaned out the pond and were getting the filters cleaned out. Mostly my dad did it, until Brayden came over. He was VERY interested in helping out. So my dad was showing him how to clean it with the hose and turn it over and clean it again. It was really cute!
After the cleaning was done my dad said to me "Deana, when you have kids, they better be THAT cute!" Dang! I have a lot to live up to! My parents are SOOOO ready to be grandparents. Too bad they will just have to wait! We will borrow Brayden for now :)

Tattoo for Lucky

I decided to cover up my tattoo on my ankle. It was just so plain and I wanted something to represent Lucky cuz I love him so much! I decided to get a paw print with a four-leaf-clover. I had my artist, Bart, draw me something up. And I loved what he came up with.

Here it is on my ankle. This is just the stamp. The pain hasnt started yet.

Ah, there it is! OUCH! Ya, this is a "Ya, Im in pain" face. But not the "HOLY S%$# IM IN PAIN!!!!!!!" face. Thank you Kelsi for not taking one of those. It really hurt. Good thing Kelsi was there to keep me entertained.

But after the hour of pain, I now have this...

I really love it :)

Tale of Two Cities

Craig and Kelsi purchased season tickets to Hale Theatre this year. With that purchase she received an email stating that she should share with her friends and family. From what the email said, it looked like tickets were FREE! Sounded too good to be true but when i called, it was confirmed. They were free. As a "thank you" to Kelsi for sharing the offer with me, I decided to take her with me to see it again. She said that it was the best play she has ever seen! So when she had the opportunity to see it again, she jumped on it! Plus I told her i would buy her dinner for the free show ;)

Kelsi and I went to dinner at Applebee's and had some time to kill so we walked through Hale Theatre as I had never been there before. It is beautiful. Finally we were able to get in our seats. We were on row 9. You would think at any other theatre that those would be amazing seats. But we were in the back row! Its a crazy small theatre so all of the seats are good seats. Kelsi prefers the higher rows anyway and I can see why.

It was a really good play. I cried a really good cry at the end. So much so, that when it was over, i still really had to hold myself together. I haven't cried like that in a long time. It felt pretty good. But I gave myself a headache from holding it in so hard.

I told Kelsi to not let me forget to take a picture for the blog. So on the way home she shouted "We have to take a picture!" So we are in the car in my driveway and we tried to take a picture. We forgot our camera's of course so she used her phone. We had to lay back in the seats so that the light was on the front of our faces and not the back. But we got our picture :)
